Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalaamu Alaikum wrb,
Ramadan Mubarak to you and your families. May Allah (swt) make this blessed and rewarding month for us, full of worship and good deeds, family connections, charity, and care for others.
Ramadan is a month in which Allah (swt) showers innumerable bounties on the believing men and women. It is a month to maximise worship and re-establish the connection with Allah (swt) that has diminished throughout the year.
While Ramadan is synonymous for many of us with a communal spirit where everyone comes together for the Iftar and night-time prayers, it is equally if not essential to keep in mind that this is a month of personal growth. One should not merely let it waste without building one’s connection with Allah (swt). May Allah make us from those that make most of this holy month and come out of it as better people with strengthened Iman and resolve.
Over the past years, we have experienced many challenges with the impact of the COVID pandemic, including not being able to visit the Masjid and celebrate Eid with the community.
Despite all the challenges our Muslim community has demonstrated, strength and resilience, the spirit of support and cooperation for one another say much about who we are and what we stand for. Alhamdulillah, this year, we are fortunate to pray at the Mosque and break the fast with family and friends.
Many of our brothers and sisters suffer from hunger, illness, homelessness, and displacement in so many countries. And for those being persecuted and oppressed in China, Myanmar, Palestine, Syria, Kashmir, Ukraine, and other places, we ask Allah (swt) to give them justice in this world and the next. Ameen.
